Senate Bill 410 and House Bill 63 Protection from Surgical Smoke are on Committee Agendas Next Tuesday, January 16FNA is supporting the passage of these bills as a part of our 2024 Legislative Agenda.
Here’s how you can get involved to help these bills move forward…
Participate in the Committee Meetings in Tallahassee
If you are able to travel to Tallahassee on Tuesday, January 16, we need at least 3 nurses to testify before the committees. We also need other nurses in their white lab coats to show up to show their support for the bills. Schedule:1:30pm – Senate Health Policy Meeting4:30pm – House Select Committee on Health Innovational
Call and Email Your Legislators Asking for their Support
On Monday and Tuesday morning, please call your Senate and House members and ask them to vote for SB 410 or HB 63in their committee meeting on Tuesday afternoon.Please only call your local legislators and only if they are on the committee list. When calling your legislator, refer to the talking points provided below but speak in your own words. Do not read directly from the talking points.After your call, send a follow-up email to the legislator and their staff with a copy of the talking points provided. Remember to be humble, be nice, be positive, and be polite!
