Florida 2026 Bills Filed
The 2026 Legislative Session has begun!
Committees in both the House and the Senate have begun meeting and bills that affect healthcare and nursing have been filed. Below is a partial list of significant legislation that has the potential to impact our profession or our profession.

When you look at legislation that has been filed remember the requirements for a bill to become law:
- The Bill has to pass in all the committees assigned to hear the bill
- The Bill must pass in both the House and Senate
- The Governor must either sign the Bill or not veto the Bill
It is important for you to reach out to the sponsors of the legislation and the Committee members hearing legislation to share your perceptions of the proposed legislation. Only by sharing our opinion with policy makers can we influence laws that might impact our profession.
