SB 566 Medical Directed Orders filed to allow Autonomous APRNs sign Advanced Directives
SB 566 Patient Directed Medical Orders (filed by Rodriguez) and a companion bill HB 353 (Plascencia) have been filed in the Florida House and Senate. The bills would allow Autonomous Advanced Practice Registered Nurses to sign Advanced Directives such as Do Not Resuscitate orders. HB 353 has been referred to Health Professions & Programs Subcommittee in the House.
The Health Professions & Programs Subcommittee has not scheduled the bill to be heard to date and the Senate version has not been referred to any committees as of yet.
